Importing routes and tracks

With the import function, you can import routes, tracks, and markers from other programs into the NV Charts App.

Access the menu item

Navigate in the NV Charts App to Boatview Social > My Profile (the left menu circle) -> My Settings -> Import Routes / Tracks

Route Import

1. Select a GPX, KML, or NOB file containing your route
2. You will now see a preview of your route on the map
3. Click "Import Now" to import the route into your NV Charts account
4. Navigate to the Import folder in the Routes menu item in the NV Charts App and click on the newly imported route.
5. Imported routes begin with "Import Route" in the name

Track Import

1. Select a GPX, KML, or NOB file containing your track
2. You will now see a preview of your track on the map
3. Find Point on Track 
   Sometimes it is difficult to find a specific location on a track. Use the slider at the bottom of the screen to navigate the track chronologically and accurately find the right point.
4. You can now edit your track:
   1. Split Track 
      You can split your track at any point, creating multiple tracks for import. To do this, click on a point on your track and then click "Splice Here". This will create two track segments from one.
      
   2. Shorten Track
      You can split your track at any point and then delete the resulting track segments. To do this, click on a point on your track and then click "Splice Here". This will create two track segments from one. Then click on one of the track segments and click "Delete this part"
      
   3. Merge Track
      You can merge track segments to form a single track. To do this, click on a track segment and then click the "Merge" button. Next, select the second track segment and click "Merge" again. The two segments are now merged.
      
5. Click "Import Now" to import the track into your NV Charts account.
6. Navigate to the Logbook menu item in the NV Charts App Click on the "Import" folder and search for the imported track there.
